F-1 Student Visa

International students must obtain an F-1 Student Visa to enter the United States to attend The Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Programs approved to host international students are the following:

  • Three Year Conservatory
  • 2-Year Evening Conservatory
  • 10-Week Summer Conservatory

We encourage all international students to submit application materials and allow sufficient time for visa processing. Additional information is provided on the visa process by the Admissions Office upon acceptance.

If accepted, the student will receive necessary documents from the school after the non-refundable deposit has been submitted to begin the F-1 Student Visa application process.

Upon receipt of the I-20 SEVIS form stating your SEVIS I.D. number, you must file for Form I-901 online and pay the required fee at www.fmjfee.com. You should consult the US Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) website at http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/ for I-901 Form filing information and and www.fmjfee.com for payment details.

International students will need all of the required documents for the student visa interview. Once the I-20 form has been received, the I-901 required fee has been paid, and proof of finances are compiled, these items will be submitted to the U.S. Consulate or U.S. Embassy in the student’s home country to initiate and complete the F-1 Student Visa process required to attend The Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Students are encouraged to apply for their visa early to provide ample time for visa processing times. Processing times and requirements may vary for each U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

Proof of Finances

One must demonstrate that one is financially able to support oneself for the entire period of stay in the United States while pursuing a full course of study.  Please plan accordingly. As an F-1 student you are not permitted to work off campus or to engage in business without specific employment authorization which one can apply for once the program has been completed successfully. One is required to attach documentary evidence of means of support at the visa interview. For example, if you or your sponsor is a salaried employee, please bring income tax documents and original bank books and/or statements. If you or your sponsor, own a business please bring business registration, licenses, etc., and tax documents, as well as original bank books and/or statements. Copies of these documents are also required for our files at the Stella Adler Studio prior to acceptance and enrollment.
