This course is a taste of conservatory training with classes in Adler Technique, Scene Study, Movement, and Voice & Speech. Students develop more fully as actors in this intensive, multi- disciplinary program.

ADLER TECHNIQUE I

This class explores the language and principles of the Stella Adler Technique, including action, circumstance, and justification. Students will develop a foundation from which to build themselves as actors as well as human beings.

ADLER TECHNIQUE II

This class is a deeper investigation of the concepts introduced in Technique I. Students will strengthen their foundation through more advanced exercises in the Adler Technique.

INTRODUCTION TO SCENE STUDY

ADLER TECHNIQUE FOR FILM
8 WEEKS, $800 Adler Technique I Required
TUESDAYS, SEPTEMBER 22ND - NOVEMBER 10TH, 2009 6:30 - 9:30
This class focuses on screenplay analysis, character building, and "transforming understanding into doing." Students will apply the Adler Technique directly to on-camera work with the greatest living exponent of the Adler Technique, Ron Burrus.

APROACHING THE ROLE

This class is designed for the actor who has a basic technique, but is seeking a stronger foundation. Students will analyze the text, the concept of personalization, the specific creation of a character, emotional accessibility, and the ability to act on impulse with imagination and heart.

AUDITION TECHNIQUE

This class will explore the do's and don't's of Film, TV, and Stage auditions. Students will work on cold reading skills as well as prepared monologue auditions with renowned casting director, Stephanie Yankwitt, associate with Bernard Telsey + Co.
