Paula Stevens

Character

Paula Stevens earned her BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts where she trained at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. Through Tisch, Ms. Stevens also took part in a series of workshops offered at the Royal Court Theatre in London and in New York by, another founding member of the Group Theatre, Bobby Lewis. Upon completing her degree at NYU, Ms. Stevens enrolled and participated in Stella Adler’s famed Script Interpretation, Scene Study and Character classes and began an apprenticeship with then master Technique teacher, Alice Winston. Shortly thereafter, she began teaching Basic Technique to first year NYU and Conservatory workshop students and has continued to do so, on and off, ever since. Before turning full-time to the teaching and coaching of actors and directors, she had acted in numerous Off-Off Broadway productions, some independent feature films and a few TV/radio spots. For the last several years, she has been teaching first year students at the Kanbar School of Film and Television (NYU/TSOA) in addition to apprenticing and, when needed, filling in for master Character teacher, Elizabeth Parrish, at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
