Jonathan Hopkins teaches Voice and Speech at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, where he’s also directed Shakespeare productions, Language Projects and Rehearsal Projects. He is the co-founder and Executive Director for Smith Street Stage, an award winning theater company that seeks new ways to tell classic stories. For Smith Street Stage he’s directed productions of Macbeth, Julius Caesar, Richard III and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and acted in productions of Romeo & Juliet, Twelfth Night, Much Ado About Nothing, Henry IV Parts 1 & 2, and an original adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. As an actor he’s worked regionally in New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Tennessee, and has worked in New York City Off-Broadway for the Pearl Theatre Company, Project: Theater, the SoHo Playhouse and Smith Street Stage at the Pearl Theatre.
