Carine Montbertrand

Commedia dell'Arte

At Stella Adler Studio Carine teaches neutral and Commedia dell’Arte mask, which she first studied at the Conservatoire National Superieur d’Art Dramatique in Paris. She has taught mask throughout the country and is also an accomplished text and speech teacher. As an actress she has appeared off Broadway at Soho Rep, Classical Theatre of Harlem, and The Acting Company (two seasons). Some regional credits include Hartford Stage, Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Alley Theatre (FOOL, world premiere by Theresa Rebeck), Repertory Theatre of St. Louis, UDREP, and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park (Acclaim Award for Emilia in OTHELLO). She has narrated over 70 audiobooks – Recorded Books, Penguin Random House Audio, and Live Oak Media (“Earphones Award”, American Library Association’s “Selected Audio” and “Notable Recording”). Her original solo show, SEVEN DEVILS AND A FRENCH NUN, was developed with a Grant from Amherst College.  MFA, The University of Delaware, BA, Tufts University.
