THE ADLER YOUTH GROUP

Students accepted will be considered members of an acting ensemble. The group will be introduced to the Stella Adler acting technique, and to movement and voice training for actors. Classes are arranged so students learn how to work collaboratively. In one year students will learn how to develop, communicate, and sustain characters on stage, in front of an audience.

Commitment: This is a serious program designed for students willing to commit themselves to a full year of after-school training.

Participation: Consistent participation in class is required. There are no opportunities to make up work and falling behind is detrimental to both the actor and the entire class. Students are allowed only 2 excused absences per semester.

*Evaluations:
Students are evaluated on punctuality and presence in class, class participation, homework, and willingness to work with fellow acting students. The faculty will follow the progress of each student closely. The faculty will designate time to talk with each student before the end of each semester. Evaluation results will determine if the student will or not be invited back for the second semester.
