The Stella Adler Faculty

The Stella Adler Studio employs a world-class faculty drawn from a diverse pool of professional actors, directors, singers and dancers, all united under the Adler philosophy. Selected teachers are masters of their chosen field, and frequently exhibit their work at the studio.

The studio also employs five Master teachers - Joan Evans, renowned dancer and choreographer, whose work has been shown worldwide; James Tripp, a well-respected Shakespearean actor and the studio's Head of Acting; Elizabeth Parrish, a Broadway veteran who taught alongside Stella for several years; Ron Burrus, who is considered the greatest living exponent of the Stella Adler technique; and Sam Schacht, accomplished actor and former Dean of the Actor's Studio Drama School at New School University. Students in full-time programs come in frequent contact with the four master teachers, in class and in production.

Though they come from a wide range of styles, the entire faculty joins the tradition of Stella Adler, whose passion for teaching nearly equaled her passion for acting.
