Advanced Workshops

Advanced Workshops are 8 week sessions
Saturdays from 10:00am-2:00pm
offered exclusively to Stella Adler Studio Teen Program Alumni.
Workshop fee $700

To be eligible for these workshops, you must have completed either all 3 Levels of our weekend teen program, or one of our summer teen programs with good attendance and comprehension of the material. Please contact Teen Program Director for approval.

Auditioning Workshop
Fall Session October 3rd - November 21st 2009 (Offered in the fall only)
Students work on monologues and scenes from theater and film utilizing both cold readings and prepared work. Includes group discussions on topics such as headshots and resumes, Film/TV versus theater auditions, what to expect in auditions, and finding work without the aid of managers or agents. The end of the 8 weeks will conclude with visits from a casting director.

Shakespeare Workshop
Winter Session January 16 - March 6 2010 (Offered in the winter only)
Advanced teen Shakespeare focuses on scenes and monologues with an emphasis on Shakespeare's relationship to contemporary acting techniques. The end of the 8 weeks culminates in a final performance that combines classical and contemporary texts that emphasize Shakespeare's place in modern theatre

Film and Television Workshop
Spring Session March 27-May 15 (Offered in the spring only)
This class is an "immersion" experience in the techniques necessary to work in Feature Film and Television Dramas and Comedies. Actors learn to memorize scripts quickly, relax in front of a camera and "find themselves" in the roles they are playing; three skills necessary for success in Feature Film and Television performance.
